Jarik Jongman About
All Will Be Explained comprises a new series of work that touches on transience, transformation, and horror vacui: the fear of emptiness, of existential meaninglessness, and ultimately our own mortality. Contrary to its title, as little as possible is explained — in keeping with Edmund Husserl's credo, "Zurück zu den Sachen selbst" ("Back to the things themselves"), the work is left to speak for itself.
Through religion or philosophy, humankind seeks a way out of this existential fear, in the hope that at some point — perhaps only after life has ended — everything will become clear; that everything will be explained.
Burning recurs throughout the series as a symbol of transformation and renewal, as does the use of flowers, referring to the regenerative power of nature.
